Welcome to another fire episode of Kareem Jackson Live! On The Set, where we get real, raw, and dive deep into the truths they don’t want you to know about. It’s your boy Kareem Jackson, coming to you live from the Philippines, living my best life because I got out of Plantation America—yeah, I said it.
Now, I know I joke a lot, I laugh, I smile. But today, let’s get into some real-life revelations that hit me hard growing up in America. If you’ve been following me, you know I’m a positive dude, always looking at the brighter side of things. But let me tell you, life threw some heavy stuff at me early on.
From Tragedy to Transformation Some of you know my story, some of you don’t. I lost my younger brother when we were just in high school—he was only 15 years old.
Gone, just like that.
And then, at 17, I was shot five times in San Diego. Five bullets. Left for dead. But here I am, talking to you, and that’s nothing short of a miracle. And it didn’t stop there. My cousin, who I was close to, was killed in his 20s.
So, when I tell you I’ve seen it and lived it, I’m not just talking to fill the air.
These were life-shattering moments that opened my eyes to the reality of life in America. But it wasn’t just about the streets, the violence. No, that’s only a symptom of something deeper.
Plantation America: A Modern-Day Trap The real issue is that we don’t own anything in America.
We’re sold the dream that if you work hard, you can buy that house, that car, live the “American Dream.” But what happens when you miss a payment?
What happens when you can’t pay those taxes?
Everything you thought was yours? Gone. Taken back by the banks, the government, or whoever really runs this system. Y’all, we’re just worker bees in the Matrix—a modern-day plantation. That’s what America has become for most of us. And let me tell you, you don’t have real freedom unless you make a move for it. That’s what I did. I made the decision to leave that system behind, and here I am, living free.
Why People Like Me Are Leaving America Let’s break it down. Here are three major reasons why more and more people are divesting from America: The Cost of Living is Out of Control. It’s no secret that the cost of living in the U.S. has skyrocketed. People are working two or three jobs just to survive, not to thrive.
Meanwhile, outside of America? The cost of living is so much lower. In places like the Philippines, your dollar stretches further, and you can live like a king or queen without being buried in debt. Mental Health is Taking a Hit. The grind culture, the rat race, the constant pressure to keep up with the Joneses—it’s killing people.
Literally. Stress, anxiety, and depression are rampant in the States. But when you step outside that bubble, you start to see that life can be simpler, healthier, and much more fulfilling. The System is Rigged. We don’t own anything in America. The system is designed to keep you in debt, working for someone else’s dream.
One wrong move—miss a payment, get hit with a medical bill—and it’s all taken away. More and more people are waking up to this and realizing that true freedom means stepping outside of this rigged system and building something real for themselves. My Freedom Papers: A Different Kind of Passport I was blessed early on.
My parents, God bless them, gave me my “Freedom Papers” when I was just 8 years old—my passport. I went to Africa as a kid, and let me tell you, stepping off that plane in Africa at 8 years old? It changes your whole world. I was woke at 8, y’all! Now, I see people calling themselves “passport bros” at 45, and I gotta laugh.
Y’all just now catching up! But for real, that’s when I realized that freedom isn’t something they hand you. Freedom is something you’ve gotta take.
What About You? So, here’s what I want for y’all. I want you to start thinking about your own freedom. What are you working for? Who are you working for? Is there another way you could live—one that gives you more control, more happiness, and less stress? Because let’s be real: The system isn’t just broken, it’s designed to keep us down. But there’s another way. I found mine, and you can find yours too. You don’t have to live life stuck in Plantation America.
There’s a whole world out there waiting for you. So, what’s it gonna be? Will you keep grinding in the Matrix, or will you start building your own freedom? Think about it.
That’s all for today’s episode of Kareem Jackson Live! On The Set.
We’ll be diving into some of your questions next, so grab a snack and come right on back! Stay woke, stay free, and I’ll see y’all next time.
